PROJECT IRONHAULa multiplayer train economy · plays in your browser

A shared, living rail world. You build into the same market as everyone else — earn cash by hauling goods, and standing (the score that matters) by supplying your home city. It runs around the clock; you drop in for a few minutes at a time.

START WITH FREIGHT

Haul goods, get paid for real

Draw a line, run a train. A city buys almost anything now, at a real price, and long hauls pay (earnings scale with distance). Feed a factory an input then haul its product home — an integrated chain, watch the ×3 badge. Tap the Market chip up top for the best runs open to you right now.

THEN CONNECT THE MAP

Passengers — from era 2, no research grind

The first days stay all about freight. Once era 2 hits, the Coach engine is ready to run with no unlock — start moving people the moment the era turns.

Passenger runs connect neighbours

Draw a line to a neighbouring city and complete the run to link it. New tasks walk you through your first connections.

Mail — build a name across the network

Coach-only mail loops string several cities together (unlocks with your second Coach engine, Mk II). Mail pays mostly in standing, so a well-connected loop is how you make a name — and it keeps scoring while you're away.

NEW THIS ROUND — SPEND YOUR CASH

🚂  Locomotive upgrades

Level a type up a clean Mark ladder — research the next Mark, then upgrade your whole fleet to it in one click. Late-game cash keeps buying a sharper, stronger fleet.

🏭  City Works — invest together

Pool money with your home city to make its factories fuel-efficient: steadier output for everyone hauling there, and top contributors earn standing. The cooperative flip-side of the permit auction.

THE OTHER HAULERS MATTER

The rival companies on the map are real people this round — that's what we're testing.

⚖  Permits — reworked

Permits follow the good, not a city. Hold one and hauling that good pays extra — standing carried home, cash carried abroad — with no penalty for anyone else. Win one at each era's sealed-bid auction, or pay to skip the line. Bid against real players.

🏁  Contests · humans only

Rolling races: deliver the most of good X before the clock runs out. Top haulers take the standing. Watch the 🏁 chip.

⌂  Your home city is your side

Everyone who shares it climbs the same board and pushes the city into the next era together — and there's a board to talk on. Pick a home and make it yours.

YOUR FIRST FEW MINUTES

Follow the task list top-left for small rewards, or explore. In short: drag from any industry to your home city to claim a line; tap anything — a city, an industry, a good — to see what it wants and who's supplying it (dashed links are unclaimed); open your STATION (bottom-left) to upgrade buildings and research engines. The map now frames itself when you open it. Replay the full tutorial anytime from Settings.

WORTH KNOWING

· Progress sticks to this browser — use the same device each visit.
· A round runs ~3–4 days through six eras; the clock under the logo counts down to the next one.
· The round is decided in an endgame: leading cities race to become a megacity and anyone can haul to help — a late window where standing swings.
· It's a prototype — rough edges expected. Settings has a Help & Feedback assistant; ask it anything.
